Attorney General William Barr refused to show up to the House Judiciary Committee Hearing he was scheduled to testify at on Thursday.
The New York Times reports that he also missed the subpoena deadline to hand over the Full Unredacted Mueller Report
Twitter hit back with the Hashtag #ChickenBarr

When you consider that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was subjected to questioning by a lawyer hired by the GOP…yet #Barr, the Attorney General, is not skilled enough to face one himself. Or, is he just chicken? #ChickenBarr 🐓— Dawn (@Alba_Dawn) May 1, 2019
What is Barr afraid of? If he’s telling the truth…
#ChickenBarr is a disgrace to all law enforcement officers! He needs to resign NOW— S. Hattar-all things political (@shattar0429) May 2, 2019
#ChickenBarr is splendid and a tremendous source of fleeting catharsis, but come the fuck on and start threatening contempt/jail time for refusing to appear before the congressional judiciary committee.— Brandon Turner (@Hey_Im_Brandon) May 2, 2019
Sometimes I’m amazed (and grateful) that Twitter is free.
Despite the fun we are all having about this, there is a serious issue here. The Executive Branch of government has far overstepped their bounds and is out of control. When they start ignoring congressional subpoenas, and formal requests for information the branches of government start to break down.
Congress has legislative and investigative authority but no enforcement power outside of impeachment. When congress refuses to use it’s prosecutorial power, it allows the Executive to act above the law.
We are in a Constitutional crisis.
Let’s end on a high note…
