Recently a video of a girl in Texas, opening a Blue Bell Ice Cream container, licking the ice cream, and putting it back on the shelf, went viral.
Local Texas CBS affiliate KENS5 reported that she could face up to 20 years in prison for the stunt.
Her stunt spawned other such videos.
As a joke the Keller Public Safety Facebook account posted this picture, which found it’s way over to Twitter…
where everyone took it waaaaaay too seriously and then it got stupid.

Kind of expected that.
How long until chocolate, the generally most popular flavor of all, cries it’s being oppressed by vanilla?— Lloyd (@Digital_Pimp) July 9, 2019
Won’t have to.— GiGi P (@LeoViolet3000) July 9, 2019
Salty yet Still Unseasoned Vanilla will just call 911 and lie that they were attacked.
Protecting ice cream is more important than protecting Black and brown people— mon (@cemicool) July 6, 2019
this situation is way more deadly to random people than contaminated ice cream— noodaru (@noodaroo) July 8, 2019
Right because cops randomly shoot people for no reason…or something.

Its probably harder to buy ice cream now in the US than buying a firearm smh— oh-🔑-owga (@simonokioga) July 8, 2019
I too thought the cops guarding the ice cream was serious at first glance. It might just be because that’s how wound up we are as a society now.
Unfortunately, the ice cream licking is real and maybe a larger symptom of all the chaos in the world today.
The moral of the story is don’t be a bad comsummer. I would never buy ice cream if the protective “tamper proof” seal is not inplace. Would you?
Now to Blue Bell’s defence, they claim that the way they pack their ice cream makes it so that tampering with the container makes it readily apparent and obvious that it’s been opened. But why take the chance? Why not poney up the extra $.06 per gallon to put a plastic seal on it like everyone else and then you won’t have to worry about this kind of crap?
BTW, at least one person wasn’t a crazed lunatic about the whole thing.

Blue Bell ice cream is special, many would say beloved, in Texas. Many memes & other jokes are going around about protecting it. Please understand that pictures & other tweets like this are not serious – we do not deploy police to guard ice cream, even Blue Bell.
